Filament that is out of his original, vacuum package, loses quality after some time. This comes mainly by picking up moisture from the air. That results then in “brittle” filament (easy braking while bending), “popping” during printing. This is moisture what vaporizes in your extruder and supplies an air bubble. Then your print quality gets affected and loses quality because your extrusion no longer is consistent.
The solution I use: storing bags for food.
These bags can be closed. Inside the bag I put an extra silicate bag. The whole concept gets then stored in a closed box. Preferably a dark box, since UV has also a bad influence on your filament.
